Over 45,000 origin certificates for local products issued in Oman

Muscat: The Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion has issued more than 45,000 certificates of origin for local products till October 25 this year.

The Ministry said in a statement: "42,201 certificates of origin issued for local products exported to the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council in the January-October 25 period. For these certificates of origin, applications were submitted through “Invest Easy” portal. The certificates included 2,759 for agricultural products, 35,595 industrial certificates and 3,847 certificates in the area of mining."

During the same period 2,805 local certificates of origin were issued for Arab countries, Singapore, and FTA countries for the export of local products in the agricultural, livestock, natural and industrial products sectors. The 'Invest Easy' portal aims to make services provided for Omani investors, factories, and companies to export their products easy. This also saves time and efforts of local and foreign investors.

It is a must for companies or establishments which want to obtain import or export permits to register through the 'Bayan' system and then apply with the Ministry for the permit. The application will be electronically approved by officials of the Commercial Affairs Department or the directorates and departments of the Ministry in the governorates.
