Muscat :The General Presidency for the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and An Nabawi Mosque has completed preparations for the start of the third phase of the return of pilgrims and worshippers, with a package of intensive preventive measures in place to deal with the expected increase in numbers.
The official spokesman for the Presidency of the Two Holy Mosques' Affairs, Hani Haider, explained to the Saudi Press Agency: "The presidency will receive, starting next Sunday, 20,000 pilgrims and 60,000 worshippers per day, pointing out that the employees of the presidency will work in cooperation with the concerned authorities to facilitate procedures and apply precautions for the safety, security and comfort of the guests of Rahman."
He said, "The presidency has 33 field teams working around the clock to sterilise all sides of the Grand Mosque, its external squares and toilets, using more than 2,500 litres of environmentally friendly sterilisers for the safety of those visiting the Grand Mosque."
Haider added, "There are more than 300 modern automatic hand sterilisation devices that work with the sensor feature, which have been distributed in the sides of the mosque, which consume more than 1,000 litres per day."
"The presidency is continuing within the third phase in organising the paths of entry and exit of pilgrims and worshipers, and the implementation of precautionary measures and social distancing between them in all the prayer halls, during their performance of all duties."
