Muscat: The Sultanate celebrated, on Monday, the Omani Youth Day, which falls on October 26 every year. The celebration was organised under the patronage of His Highness Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham Al Said, Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth.
The celebration was organised via videoconferencing, in which His Highness Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham Al Said gave a speech in which he extended congratulations on the occasion to the Omani youth.
His Highness said that "The celebration comes within our belief in the vital role the youth play in the development march for a more brilliant future in which they contribute to prosperity and progress of Oman."
He said that the government has accorded due attention and care for the youth since the dawn of the Blessed Renaissance and has employed all capabilities to enable them assume the duties and responsibilities for continuation of the development march and achievements.
He said that the Royal Speeches and Directives of His Majesty Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik stressed continuation of the attention and care accorded to the youth as they represent the wealth and resources of the Sultanate.
This Royal Care and attention has culminated in the establishment of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth as the umbrella under which the aspirations and innovations of the youth in the various spheres are cared for, he added.
His Highness Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham Al Said congratulated the winners of the Youth Excellence Awards organised by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth.
The celebration also included a video presentation on the youth and their aspirations under the wise leadership of His Majesty Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik.
During the celebration, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth announced the names of twenty one winners of the youth excellence awards organised by the Ministry.
