Muscat: The State Financial and Administrative Audit Institution (SAI) took part in the 5th meeting of the deputy chairmen, assistants or persons acting in their stead at the GCC Anti-Corruption and Integrity Protection Agencies.
The meeting, which was convened through video-conferencing, took place at the headquarters of the GCC Secretariat General in Riyadh on Monday.
The meeting reviewed the guiding law to protect public fund in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, updating of the guiding code of conduct for the GCC Anti-Corruption and Integrity Protection Agencies, as well as discussion on the proposal about the GCC award for excellence in the field of integrity protection and anti-corruption.
In addition, the meeting reviewed a proposal to conduct a joint GCC program for raising awareness and knowledge about promoting integrity and fighting corruption.
Moreover, the meeting discussed updating guiding principles for knowledge exchange among GCC anti-corruption agencies.
It also reviewed the importance of educating the youth generation on the principles of integrity promotion and combating corruption.
It was concluded by preparing a draft agenda for the 6th meeting of Chairmen of the GCC Anti-Corruption and Integrity Protection Agencies, which is scheduled to be held next November 2020.
