DBBS urges individuals with certain blood types to donate blood

Muscat: The Department of Blood Banks Services (DBBS) has appealed to holders of AB negative, AB positive, A positive and B positive blood types to donate blood. 

A statement issued online by DBBS said, "The levels of blood groups at the Central Blood Bank in  Boushar, on Monday, indicated a decrease in blood groups such as

 AB negative, AB positive, A positive and B positive. Therefore, we invite the carriers of the aforementioned blood groups to donate blood."

"Please book your appointment to donate blood via WhatsApp at 94555648 or by calling 24591255 or 24594255," the statement added.

To book an appointment for blood donation through the WhatsApp application, please send the following information:

 1. Full name with family name

 2. Civil ID

 3. Type of donation (blood donation / donation of platelets / donation of plasma)

 4. Preferred date and timing
