Beirut: The International Labour Organisation (ILO), represented by the ILO Regional Office for Arab Countries in Beirut praised the improvements witnessed in the social protection system in the Sultanate.
This is consistent with the international standards for social security for the purpose of provision of adequate full social coverage to all workers and their families in all sectors in the Sultanate.
In a letter, ILO addressed to the Public Authority for Social Insurance (PASI), ILO hailed the achievement witnessed in the Sultanate by issuance of the Job Security System.
ILO said that the Job Security System issued by the PASI is one of the key social protection systems in the region.
ILO also pointed to the technical support offered by the ILO Regional Office for Arab Countries in establishment of the system.
ILO also valued the efforts in activation of social dialogue between the parties which would contribute to creation of a solid ground for social protection in the Sultanate of Oman.
