Two expats arrested for smuggling

Muscat: Two expatriates have been arrested on charges of smuggling infiltrators in North Al Batinah.

Royal Oman Police (ROP) said in a statement, “Coast Guard police boats in North Al Batinah arrested two expats, who were smuggling two people of Asian nationality, aboard a boat near the coast of Wilayat Sohar. They were handed over to Sohar Police Station to complete the rest of the legal procedures against them."

“ROP thanks citizens and residents for their cooperation with police officers to control smuggling and infiltration operations, and calls on them to further cooperation to address smuggling and infiltration crimes, through immediate reporting, whether by calling the Police Operations Center on 9999 or going to the nearest police station.”
