Oman's share index ends marginally lower

Muscat: The MSM index closed at 3,701.19 points, down 0.14 per cent from the previous close.
The Sharia Index ended up 0.19 per cent at 519.99 points. Al Maha Ceramics, up 2.46 per cent was the top gainer while Oman Fisheries, down 4.44 per cent, was the top loser. Bank Nizwa was the most active in terms of the number of shares traded and also was the most active in terms of turnover.
A total number of 497 trades were executed during the day's trading session, generating a turnover of OMR1.2 million, with more than 7.3 million shares changing hands. Out of 36 traded stocks, 4 advanced, 13 declined and 19 remained unchanged. At the session close, foreign investors were net sellers for OMR176,000 while local investors were net buyers for OMR141,000 followed by GCC & Arab for OMR35,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index closed by 0.31 per cent at, 5997.08 points. Bank Nizwa was up by 1.0 per cent. Muscat Finance, Al Sharqiya Investment, National Bank of Oman, Oman Emirates Investment and Taageer Finance were down by 3.85 per cent, 2.86 per cent, 2.23 per cent, 2.13 per cent and 1.11 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index closed at 3,972.25 points, down 0.06 per cent. Al Maha Ceramics and Al Anwar Ceramic were up by 2.46 per cent and 1.27 per cent respectively. Oman Fisheries, Galfar Engineering and Gulf International were down by 4.44 per cent, 1.96 per cent and 0.95 per cent respectively.
Services index was up 0.11 per cent before closing at 1,568.54.81 points. Phoenix Power was up by 1.82 per cent. Al Batinah Power, Al Jazeera Service and Ooredoo were down by 1.82 per cent, 0.6 per cent and 0.52 per cent respectively.
