Muscat Municipality issues guidelines for gyms

Muscat: The Muscat Municipality has issued a slew of decisions for the safety of people going to Gyms after the Supreme Committee gave an order for their reopening.
In a statement the Muscat Municipality said that it affirms compliance with the preventive requirements and procedures for men and women in fitness halls at gymnasium.
The preventive measures and requirements include: The attendance in a gymnasium should not exceed 50 per cent of its capacity.
While the equipment should be placed at a distance of 2 metres from each other to follow the social distancing norms, the managers should routinely clean and disinfect all areas, shared electronic equipment, machinery and tools with70 per cent alcohol based disinfectant.
In addition, restrooms, locker, changing rooms should also be disinfected. Those wanting to use any equipment must wait in a queue before and after its use while maintaining physical distance for the layout and activities.
Restriction on using Gym whirlpools, swimming pools, saunas, etc will continue.
Moreover, those visiting the place should take some precautions: Before entering any facility and during an exercise, one should wear face mask but while doing aerobics, the mask can be put around the neck for conformable breathing.
Visitors should bring their own towel and wipe off sweat before it falls on the surface. They have to wear and disinfect special sports gloves before and after using equipment while maintaining two metres distance and avoid unnecessary chat during an exercise.
Those coming to Gym should bring their own water bottle and avoid high exertion sports as much as possible. They should also restrict their movement between equipment or facilities inside.
