Indian ambassador praises work of teachers

Muscat: Embassy of India, Muscat, organised an online interaction with Indian school teachers and faculty members of higher education institutes in Oman, on September 3, 2020.
The event started with observance of one-minute silence as a mark of respect for late Pranab Mukherjee, former president of India.
Ambassador Munu Mahawar gave a brief speech and paid tributes to Late Pranab Mukherjee, who was a remarkable teacher and a global statesman. The ambassador expressed his gratitude to His Majesty Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik and Government of Oman for extending generous support.
Conveying his best wishes to all the teachers, he said: “Teachers from India Campaign”, started by the Ministry of Education honours and recognises the contribution of Indian teachers across the world.”
He appreciated the contribution of all teachers in Oman as being true ambassadors of India and commended them for their service and dedication.

A video of teachers from Oman who have won awards was played after the speech by Ambassador.
Two teachers from Indian School Muscat, Eskalin Gonsalves and Venkatson Karthikeyan, who have recently won CBSE Teacher Award 2019 were commended for their achievement. Dr. Baby Sam, Chairman – Board of Directors, Indian Schools in Oman also gave a short speech and thanked all the teachers for ensuring continuity of education during the COVID-9 pandemic.
The main highlight was the open interactive session, where teachers and faculty members expressed their views and ideas on various topics with Ambassador Munu Mahawar. Ambassador in his concluding remarks appreciated the suggestions given by various participants and again conveyed his best wishes to all the teachers on the occasion of teacher’s day
