Muscat: Expatriates have taken the wise leadership of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said to heart as many are signing up to have their names included in His Majesty’s portrait for the National Day.

Those who register to participate in the competition will have their names included in the Sultan’s portrait for the commemoration of 46th National Day, which will be celebrated in just over a month, as well as get a chance to win OMR25,000 worth of gifts.

During the first hour of announcing the competition, 3,500 participants signed up and by 3pm, the Times of Oman recorded 15,000 participants and counting.

Furthermore, expat communities are expressing their heartfelt thanks and gratitude to His Majesty on the Times of Oman’s Facebook page, citing his leadership and giving a chance to expatriates to live among Omanis and be treated as equals.

Prabhakar Bhandarkar said: “On behalf of the entire expat community in Oman, I would like to thank His Majesty the Sultan, for being so kind and generous to us and empowering us with equality in every aspect of our lives—from job opportunity to lifestyle, everything has been a pleasant dream and a blessing in disguise.”

Darryl Mascarenhas said, “May God Almighty bless His Majesty with good health and long life.

We are happy to be in Oman under his wise leadership, which has built and improved the growth of Oman.”

Some, who have worked for years in the Sultanate, cherish every memory they have in the country.

In another comment, Kokila Ashar wrote, “Last 14 years in Oman. A cherished memory. His Majesty the Sultan’s leadership has made this country a paradise. God bless him and he may rule for many more years.”

She added, “A peaceful serene place to reside. I am privileged to be residing in this country.”

The number of participants in the initiative is continuously growing, which indicates the influence His Majesty has on the citizens and expats.
