First part of field hospital to open this month

Muscat: The first part of the field hospital will open this month, Dr. Ahmed Al Saidi, Minister of Health and member of the Supreme Committee, said.
He was talking to the media about the latest developments on the coronavirus outbreak in the country.
The minister also said that action will be taken against institutions that do not adhere to preventive measures or measure temperatures of those entering their premises. “Wearing a mask and observing social distancing are the most effective means of protection from the virus,” he said.
The Ministry of Health registered 206 new coronavirus cases in Oman on Thursday.
He also said some of the deaths recorded were cases that did not go out of their homes, but visitors infected them. “The number of inpatients in hospitals is still worrying, but they are gradually decreasing,” he said.
The Minister of Health also announced that adults over the age of 60 will be allowed to enter shopping malls and other public places.
