Muscat: Results of the much-awaited 13th edition of the SAI-Times of Oman Open Essay Writing and Poster Making Competition have been announced, after the completion of a thorough and systematic three-tier evaluation process. From 4,517 students registered for the event representing 353 schools from all over Oman, 408 students made it to the prize winners’ list.
The list of prize winners in the contest held for school children, in cooperation with Ministry of Education, on ‘Value themes’ under the title, “Spreading The Light Through Human Values - 2016” has already been published in the Times of Oman and Al Shabiba newspapers.
The SAI Group congratulated all the participants and the winners, for their thought-provoking and creative efforts and also their institutions, families and friends, who have guided the children to participate in the value-based competition.
“Every participant is a winner as he or she has utilised an opportunity to contemplate core human values, which by itself is an enriching experience,” said a SAI Group coordinator.
The winners’ list has also been uploaded on the website www.saivaluesoman.org. Three prizes are awarded in each group, as well as in every category of schools, in each region. In addition, consolation prizes are also awarded. A participation certificate is handed to all participants.
The award presentation ceremony for the Muscat Governorate will be held at 6 pm on Monday at the Indian School Ghubra (ISG). The winners are requested to be present at the venue by 5.00 pm. Dr. Sana Sabeel Al Balushi, director general, National Career Guidance Centre and Head of Specialised Centre for Professional Training of Teachers, Ministry of Education, Oman will be the chief guest at the ceremony and give away prizes to the winners.
For the interior regions (other than Muscat), the prizes will be handed over to the schools through the MoE in the respective regions. Participation certificates (for those who have not yet received the same) can be collected from the organisers on the award ceremony day. The top three winning essays and posters will be displayed at ISG during the award ceremony.
The contest, which was held on April 9, 16 and 23 in three phases and at different locations—Muscat, Sohar, Ibri, Nizwa, Sur, Salalah and Buraimi—was meant for schools in the respective regions and attracted overwhelming and enthusiastic participation from the students of Omani Arabic, Omani Private (Bilingual, Monolingual and Global), Special Education and International Schools in Oman.
