COVID-19:Committee reviews steps to help private sector

Muscat: The committee tasked with studying the economic impacts of coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, reviewed preventive measures and precautions taken in the past to support the private sector businesses and enhance their ability to adapt to the current exceptional conditions resulting from the pandemic.
The steps included commercial, industrial and incentive packages offered by the government, in addition to the Programme of Emergency Loans meant to help the most hard-hit entrepreneurs.
A meeting was held under the chairmanship of Sayyid Hamoud bin Faisal Al Busaidi, Minister of Interior on Wednesday.
It also studied a number of other topics related to its tasks and decided to submit recommendations in their regard to the Supreme Committee for appropriate action.
