Muscat: The MSM index closed at 3,751.52 points, up 0.38 per cent from the previous close.
The Sharia Index ended flat by 0.00 per cent at 524.29. OIFC up 2.13 per cent was the top gainer while Al Maha Ceramics, down 2.87 per cent, was the top loser. OIFC was active in terms of the number of shares traded and also was the most active in terms of turnover.
A total number of 290 trades were executed during the day's trading session, generating a turnover of OMR0.525 million, with more than 4.6 million shares changing hands. Out of 42 traded stocks, 14 advanced, 9 declined and 19 remained unchanged. At the session close, GCC & Arab investors were net buyers for OMR36,000 while foreign were net sellers for OMR32,000 followed by local for OMR3,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index closed by 0.49 per cent at, 6,081.83 points. Muscat Finance, Bank Muscat. National Life & General, HSBC Oman and Oman United Insurance were up by 1.96 per cent, 1.53 per cent, 1.24 per cent, 1.06 per cent and 1.04 per cent respectively. Al Omaniya Financial was down by 2.5 per cent.
Industrial Index closed at 3,994.57 points, down 0.11 per cent. Oman Flour Mills and Galfar Engineering were up by 2.04 per cent and 1.92 per cent respectively. Al Maha Ceramics, Al Jazeera Steel, Al Anwar Ceramic and Gulf International were down by 2.87 per cent, 2.04 per cent, 1.91 per cent, 1.89 per cent respectively.
Services index was down 0.11 per cent before closing at 1,574.23 points. OIFC and Oman National Engineer were up by 2.13 per cent and 1.72 per cent respectively. Muscat Gases, Al Batinah Power, Al Suwadi Power and Ooredoo were down by 2.30 per cent, 1.82 per cent, 1.79 per cent and 0.5 per cent.
