Oman committed to youth empowerment: Sayyid Theyazin

Muscat: His Highness Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham bin Tarik Al Said, Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth reaffirmed the Sultanate's continued efforts for the implementation of the GCC joint plans and programmes to empower the youths of the region for the implementation of the Royal Directives of the GCC leaders.
The statements of His Highness Sayyid Theyazin came during the 33rd meeting of the GCC Youth and Sports Ministers held, yesterday, via video conferencing.
The meeting was chaired by Shamma bint Suhail Al Mazrui, Minister of State for Youth Affairs in the United Arab Emirates and chairperson of the current session of GCC Youth and Sports Ministers Council.
The meeting discussed the recommendations of the 36th meeting of the Undersecretaries of the GCC Youth Ministries, the efforts accorded to address the developments of COVID 19 pandemic; the strategic plan of the GCC Youth and Sports Ministers and the budget of the joint activities and programmes.
The meeting also discussed the work of the technical committees affiliated to the youth and sports ministers' council which included the youth committee, the training committee, the youth media committee and sports.
They also discussed international cooperation in the field of joint youth activities and the significance of communicating and coordinating with the regional and international organisations operating in the field of youth and sports. The meeting concluded with a discussion on the coordination of work of the Secretariat General of the GCC Youth and Sports Ministers Council with Bahrain on fixing the time and venue for the 34th Meeting of the GCC Youth and Sports Ministers and its preparatory meeting.—ONA.
