Electricity production falls by 2.6% in first half of 2020

Muscat: The electricity production has fallen by 2.6 per cent during the first six months of 2020 as compared to the same period in 2019.

A statement issued online by Oman News Agency (ONA) said, "The electricity production during the first half of the current year decreased by 2.6 per cent to reach 17,501.8 GW per hour, compared to the total production of 17,968.3 GW per hour in the first half of 2019."

"The figures of the National Center for Statistics and Information (NCSI) indicate that the Sultanate’s production of water during the first half of 2020 achieved an increase of 6.4 per cent and reached 229, 303,100 cubic meters," the statement added.
