Mitsubishi ASX now available at reduced prices

Muscat: The ASX, the capable and adventurous CUV that combines its well-established reputation for value with go-anywhere versatility and reliability, is now available from General Automotive Company (GAC), the official distributor of Mitsubishi vehicles in Oman, at reduced prices starting from as low as OMR 7,295 or instalments of only OMR 92 per month. The price also includes six years of unlimited mileage warranty and roadside assistance.
Commenting on the ASX, Manoj Ranade, General Manager of GAC, said, “The ASX has proven reliability, fuel efficiency and an excellent all-wheel-drive system that delivers on all fronts. With its extremely competitive pricing and advanced technologies, wrapped in a bold new design, the ASX has continued to see increased customer interest with each passing month. This will only get better with the reduced price we have it at currently.”
The ASX, when it was released, was the first example of Mitsubishi's new bold and dynamic design and was a look to the future design direction that will eventually be shared across all offerings throughout the Mitsubishi line-up. The front of the CUV features Mitsubishi's Dynamic Shield design and offers an all-new front bumper, hood, and fenders, which provide a bold and rugged look. The front-end design is accented by the sophisticated LED low- and high-beam headlights that raise the sporty aesthetic and allow the ASX to stand out in a field of sameness. LED daytime running lights and optional LED fog lights round out the new face of the ASX. The rear bumper fascia also has been redesigned to provide a broad, stable appearance with T-shaped rear combination taillights giving the vehicle a strong shoulder line that lends an air of power and stability.
Inside, the ASX receives all-new, high-quality materials and upgraded gloss black and silver-painted HVAC controls. A new second-generation 8.0-inch Smartphone-link Display Audio (SDA) unit is also available, together with dual front USB ports, and steering-wheel-mounted audio, Bluetooth-connected phone, and voice recognition controls. The 8.0-inch screen also provides a high-resolution full-colour feed from the rear-view camera, together with parking guidelines, to assist with reversing.
Under the hood, the ASX comes standard with a 2.0L MiVEC DOHC four-cylinder making 148 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 145 pound-feet of torque at 4,200 rpm. Paired with Mitsubishi’s INVECS-III CVT, the ASX offers an optimal balance of power output, fuel efficiency, and environmental performance, together with enhanced acceleration performance and a smooth-shifting feel.
The ASX is also available with an electronically controlled 4WD system with a push-button drive mode selector. The system offers enhanced fuel economy, better stability in adverse weather conditions via the AWC mode, improved traction and steering feel when accelerating from a standstill, and an overall reduction in noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH). The system has three shift-on-the-fly modes – 2WD for everyday driving; 4WD for improved traction and safety in slippery driving conditions; and a 4WD LOCK for tackling steep hills, slippery and rough roads, and for getting out when stuck in the mud.
“As an entry-level CUV, the ASX is one of the most important vehicles in our line-up as it is the one that introduces a significant number of our customers to the brand. The vehicle has, with its bold, rugged looks, reliable performance, and low running costs continued to make more and more customers want to revisit the brand for a new version or an upgrade. I fully expect the current ASX to continue this trend,” added Manoj.
