Oman's share index ends marginally higher

Muscat: The MSM index closed at 3,570.58 points, up 0.54 per cent from previous close.
The Sharia Index ended up by 0.10 per cent at 520.37. National Bank of Oman, up 4.17 per cent was the top gainer while Dhofar Cattle Feed, down 8.33 per cent, was the top loser. National Bank of Oman was the most active in terms of number of shares traded and also was the most active in terms of turnover.
A total number of 292 trades were executed during the day's trading session, generating turnover of OMR1.5 million, with more than 9.2 million shares changing hands. Out of 34 traded stocks, 8 advanced, 3 declined and 23 remained unchanged. At the session close, GCC & Arab investors were net buyers for OMR109,000 while local were net sellers for OMR89,000 followed by foreign for OMR19,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index closed by 0.76 per cent at, 5,718.90 points. National Bank of Oman, Al Madina Investment, Bank Muscat, Oman & Emirates Investment and Gulf Investment were up by 4.17 per cent, 4.17 per cent, 2.79 per cent, 2.17 per cent and 1.41 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index closed at 3,958.79 points, down 0.39 per cent. Oman Packaging and Al Maha Ceramics were up by 4.14 per cent and 1.99 per cent respectively. Dhofar Cattle Feed, Galfar Engineering and Oman Cement were down by 8.33 per cent, 1.85 per cent and 1.74 per cent respectively.
Services index was up 0.01 per cent before closing at 1,533.44 points. There were no gainers or losers from the sector. However, a total of 14 companies witnessed their share getting traded.
