Over 20 illegal immigrants arrested while attempting to enter Oman

Muscat: Over 20 infiltrators have been arrested by the Royal Oman Police (ROP), for attempting to enter the Sultanate illegally.

A statement issued online by Oman News Agency (ONA), said: "The Coast Guard Police in North Al Batinah Governorate has seized two smuggling boats, one of them near the port of wilayat of Saham and the other on the beach of the Wilayat of Shinas, with 24 infiltrators of different Asian nationalities on board."

"The ROP warns citizens and residents against facilitating the entry of infiltrators into the Sultanate’s lands, and calls for not accommodating illegal labourers so that they are not subject to legal accountability."

"Also to provide more cooperation to combat this phenomenon, we encourage immediate reporting by calling 9999 or going to the nearest police station," the statement added.
