Supreme Committee issues statement on Covid-19 situation in Oman

Muscat: The chairman of the Supreme Committee thanked and appreciated all members of society for the high level of commitment witnessed during the closure period between the governorates and during the prevention of movement at night.

His Excellency Sayyid Hammoud bin Faisal Al Busaidi, Minister of Interior, Chairman of the Supreme Committee said in a statement that the committee makes its decisions according to specific, well-studied data that are submitted to it by specialists in various fields and sectors, indicating that the ultimate goal of these decisions is to protect the individual and society from Covid-19 and mitigate its various negative effects.

On the movement ban and closure of travel between governorates, the statement said that the goal was to reduce the movement of individuals and their gathering, especially during the blessed Eid Al-Adha period, which usually witnesses family and social gatherings.

He and members of the committee raised the most sincere signs of gratitude and gratitude to His Majesty Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik.
