MSM index ends marginally lower

Muscat: The MSM index closed at 3,566.90 points, down 0.16 per cent from the previous close.
The Sharia Index ended up by 0.04 per cent at 521.68. Al Madina Investment, up 4.0 per cent was the top gainer while National Bank of Oman, down 7.14 per cent, was the top loser. Gulf Investment was the most active in terms of the number of shares traded and Ahli Bank Perpetual Bonds 2019 was the most active in terms of turnover.
A total number of 347 trades were executed during the day's trading session, generating a turnover of OMR1.05 million, with more than 8.6 million shares changing hands. Out of 36 traded stocks, 6 advanced, 7 declined and 23 remained unchanged. At the session close, foreign investors were net sellers for OMR87,000 while local were net buyers for OMR46,000 followed by GCC & Arab for OMR40,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index closed by 0.12 per cent at, 5,693.14 points. Al Madina Investment Gulf Investment and Al Madina Takaful were up by 4.00 per cent, 2.63 per cent, and 1.33 per cent respectively. National Bank of Oman, Oman Arab Bank and Bank Nizwa were down by 7.14 per cent, 3.5 per cent and 1.01 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index closed at 3,971.99 points, up 0.13 per cent. Galfar Engineering was up by 1.96 per cent. Raysut Cement was down by 1.3 per cent.
Services index was down 0.30 per cent before closing at 1,534.32 points. Oman National and Al Jazeera Service were up by 1.77 per cent and 0.58 per cent respectively.
