Envoy to visit Buraimi for Pakistan Day celebrations

Muscat: On the occasion of launch of the ‘Pakistan Day’ celebrations, Ali Javed, ambassador of Pakistan to Oman, is scheduled to visit Buraimi on March 10, according to a press release issued by the embassy.
The embassy has also invited Pakistani expatriates in Buraimi to participate in the Community Event to be held at ‘Majlis-e-Aman’ Hall facing Falaj Masjid. Details of the programme can be sought from the embassy by contacting the phone number+968-7195 2971.
He will conduct a daylong activity including a visit of a recently restored ‘Falaj’, a 1,500-year old underground irrigation system in Oman, followed by a meeting and luncheon with local Omani dignitaries and participation in Community Event which foresees over 500 registered guests. Separated by a mere 202 nautical miles, Pakistan and Oman are maritime neighbours enjoying brotherly and strategic ties anchored in a unique and established 5,000 years of shared history. There are 242,000 Pakistanis in Oman which is their third highest presence in GCC and sixth worldwide.
Pakistan Day is celebrated by 9 million expatriates with traditional fervour in commemoration of historic ‘Pakistan Resolution’, adopted in Lahore on ‘March 23, 1940’ leading to the establishment of an independent and Sovereign Pakistan on August 14, 1947 which coincided with the magnificent 27th night of Ramadan.
Seven branches of Pakistan School System (6,000 students) Beacon House (550) and City School (400), Pakistan Social Club and NESPAK, DESCON, HBL, PIA, Air Blue, Shaheen Air are among corporations in Oman joining celebrations.
Pakistani businesses in Oman partnering in ‘Pakistan Day’ reception include Khurshid Trading & Contracting, Syed Fayyaz Group, Stars Light, Mohammed Riaz & Partners, AZ Engineers, Al Amwaj Al Sabha Trading, Gulf Neon Signs, Al Haseena Jewellery, Naseem Al Batinah Al Watinah, Al Ghazaal, Al Barkah Steel & Engineering, Stones World Int’l, Kalamkaar Furniture and Alpha Events.
Ahead of Ambassador’s visit, Consular Services will be extended to Community in Burami (400kms) by Embassy Officers from 8-9 March at Pakistan School (Principal School:9303-1845). Similar services in Salalah (1100 kms) shall be organised from March 15-16 at Pakistan School (Principal School:9913-4032).
