Muttrah reports only three new cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday

Muscat: Precautionary measures instituted in Oman have seen only three new cases of COVID-19 reported in Wilayat Muttrah on 29 July, according to the Ministry of Health data.

The occurrence of cases in Muttrah is the least across the entire Governorate of Muscat, which reported 220 positive coronavirus tests on Wednesday.

Seeb reported the highest number of cases in the governorate with 83. It also has the highest number of people tested positive for COVID-19 so far, with 15,235 cases.

Amerat, which has 3,246 cases, is second in terms of the number of fresh cases reported, with 55, while Quriyat (999 cases) is third with 35 cases. 34 more people tested positive for the disease in Wilayat Baushar, which has 10,338 cases, while in Wilayat Muscat, 10 more people have tested positive, taking the total there to 1,628 cases.

Across Oman, a total of 78.569 cases have been so far reported, with only 665 new cases coming to light on Wednesday the 29th. Of these 48,119 people who’ve tested positive are Omanis, while the remaining 30,450 are expatriate residents.

60,240 people have recovered from the virus so far – a rate of 76.67 percent – while 17,917 people are currently sick. Unfortunately, 412 people have died due to complications from the disease.
