New stretch of highway opened in Oman

Muscat: The Ministry of Transport has opened a 12 km stretch of the Al-Suwaiq-Al Huqain dual carriageway project.

The Ministry opened a 12 km stretch of Al-Suwaiq-Al Huqain dual carriageway project, part of the 18 km project length. This link road connects Batinah expressway with the old Batinah dual carriageway.

The new stretch features 3 roundabouts to serve surrounding residential and industrial areas, two wadi bridges and 18 box culverts to drain rainwater.
Construction is progressing for the remaining 6 km portion and it might be completed in the last quarter of 2020.
