Ministry of Sports Affairs announces formation of table tennis, cycling associations

Muscat: Sheikh Sa’ad bin Mohammed Al Sa’adi, Minister of Sports Affairs, yesterday issued two decisions announcing the formation of Oman Table Tennis Association and Oman Cycling Association.
The announcement comes as a result of the success achieved by Oman Table Tennis Commission and Oman Cycling Commission in hosting various regional and international championships.
It also reflects the great progress made in establishing infrastructure and professional practice of the two games, as well as aspirations to achieve more advanced rankings for the Sultanate in international events.
The decisions also come as part of measures to promote individual sports and keep pace with rapid developments of sports at a global level.
