30 flights to help expats fly home from Oman this week

Muscat: Nearly 30 flights from Oman have been organised over the coming week for expatriates in the country who wish to return home, during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
The flights have been organised as part of repatriation efforts for expats who intend to return to their home countries, as well as special flights that have been set up by carriers in the Sultanate.
Oman Air, the country’s national airline, has organised 13 flights between 27 and 31 July. On each of these dates, one flight to Chittagong in Bangladesh has been sheduled, while a flight to Kuala Lumpur has also been organised for the 27th. The same day a SalamAir flight to Alexandria via Salalah will also leave Muscat.
Two Vande Bharat repatriation flights from the government of India will head to Lucknow and Trivandrum on the same day. The following day a similar flight will take off for Vijayawada.
Flights to five locations will take off on the 28th: Zanzibar, Dhaka, Colombo, Jakarta and Cairo, followed by planes to Tehran, Dar Es Salaam, Entebbe and Nairobi a day later. On 29 July, SalamAir has also organised a plane that will leave Muscat, pick up more passengers in Salalah, and then fly to Assiut in Egypt.
On the 30th, Oman Air will operate flights to Addis Ababa, Air India will fly to Chennai. Two SalamAir flights will head to Alexandria: one via Salalah, the second directly from Muscat. Another flight has been organised to Islamabad.
The next day, three more Vande Bharat flights will take off for three destinations in India: the first will halt at Mangalore before flying on to Bangalore, the second will travel to Calicut and the third will go to Trivandrum. On the same day, the second of Oman Air’s Chittagong flights scheduled for this week will depart.
Passengers who wish to fly on the Oman Air aircraft scheduled to leave Muscat International Airports on the above dates are requested to call 2453-1111 or email [email protected], while those planning to fly on SalamAir can call 2472-2222.
However, those looking to fly on the Vande Bharat flights to India are requested to fill in an online form uploaded by the Embassy of India in Muscat. The link to this is available on the embassy’s social media pages and its website.
