Guidelines for transport of goods in Oman issued

Muscat: The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MCI), has issued an announcement to all commercial companies, on transport goods and issuing of permits to move between governorates.

A statement issued online by the Ministry of Commerce and lndustry said: "Referring to the decision of the Supreme Committee related to the total closure between governorates, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, in coordination with government agencies is issuing guidelines for the transportation of goods. Permits will be issued to move between governorates for the following activities:

- Institutions and companies licensed to engage in the sale of foodstuffs (trucks with a load of more than 3 tons).

- Oil tankers and cooking gas supply.

The Ministry affirmed that for obtaining permits, one should communicate via text messages, email or WhatsApp only (to the number 90114111 or to the email [email protected]."
