Muscat: As per the statistics released by the Tarassud app, launched by the Ministry of Health, the youngest death due to COVID-19 is that of a 22-year-old.
On Thursday, the Tarassud app showed that Oman has registered 355 deaths due to COVID-19 since the beginning of the pandemic. The Tarassud app provides updates on the coronavirus situation in Oman and the rest of the world. The Ministry of Health has recently published age-related statistics on deaths due to COVID-19 in the Sultanate.
According to the statistics, ages 60-79 recorded the largest death rate in the Sultanate with 156 cases, including 120 citizens and 36 expatriates. Ages 50-59 recorded 61 deaths, including 20 citizens and 41 expatriates, while ages 40-49 recorded 59 death cases, including 18 citizens, and 41 expatriates. Ages 30-39 recorded 38 deaths, including 15 citizens and 23 expatriates, while ages 80 and above recorded 34 deaths, of which 33 were citizens and only one expatriate. Ages 20-29 recorded 7 death cases, including two citizens and five expats.
According to the latest statistics of the Ministry of Health, there were no deaths reported in the age group 0-20 years.
