Oman's share index ends marginally higher

Muscat: The MSM30 index closed at 3,476.95 points, up 0.51 per cent from the previous close.
The Sharia Index ended down by 0.15 per cent at 520.130 points Al Sharqia Investment, up 4.62 per cent was the top gainer while convertible Oman Arab Bank, down 6.25 per cent was the top loser. National life & General was the most active in terms of the number of shares traded and Oman United was the most active in terms of turnover.
A total number of 385 trades were executed during the day's trading session, generating a turnover of OMR1.5 million, with more than 8.1 million shares changing hands. Out of 39 traded stocks, 16 advanced, 4 declined and 19 remained unchanged. At the session close, foreign investors were net sellers for OMR348,000 while GCC & Arab investors were net buyers for OMR198,000 followed by local investors for OMR149,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index closed by 0.70 per cent at, 5,536.29 points. Al Sharqia Investment, Oman United Insurance, Muscat Finance, Ahli Bank and AL Anwar Holding were up by 4.62 per cent, 4.00 per cent, 2.27 per cent, 1.63 per cent and 1.49 per cent respectively. Oman Arab Bank was down by 6.25 per cent.
Industrial Index closed at 3,943.72 points, up 0.10 per cent. Oman Fisheries and Al Anwar Ceramic were up by 2.27 per cent and 0.65 per cent respectively. Al Maha Ceramics was down by 1.01 per cent.
Services index was up 0.48 per cent before closing at 1,544.11 points. Renaissance Service, Al Suwadi Power, Muscat City, National Gas and Ooredoo were up by 2.15 per cent, 1.89 per cent, 1.82 per cent, 1.82 per cent and 1.52 per cent respectively. National Engineer and Phoenix Power were down by 1.82 per cent and 1.69 per cent.
