Washington: Former world U-20 champion Michael Norman raced to a world leading 9.86 seconds win in the men's 100m at a meeting in Ft. Worth, Texas, the United States on Monday.
The 22-year-old beat his previous personal best of 10.27 seconds set in 2016 when the high school student also won the 200m and 4x100m relay at the World U-20 Championships in Poland.
World Athletics said the performance makes Norman just the second man in history to run sub-10 for 100m, sub-20 for 200m and sub-44 for 400m, joining Olympic 400m champion Wayde van Niekerk in that exclusive club.
Last year, Norman won four Diamond league titles, including the 200m win on 19.70s at the Rome Diamond League meeting on June 6.
