Muscat: The time limit for non-Omanis to transfer the ownership of land and real estate located in the places of prohibition has been extended until 31st October 2021.
According to the Royal Decree No. 29/2018 regarding the law prohibiting non-Omani ownership of land and real estate in some places, the time limit to transfer the ownership of land and real estate located in places of the embargo ends on 19th November 2020.
The Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning said in an announcement, "In view of the emergency conditions of the coronavirus, the ministry has announced the extension of the time limit for disposing of lands and real estate located in the places of the embargo for a period of one year ending on 31st October 2021, provided that the ownership of lands and real estate is transferred to Omanis during the aforementioned period."
