Muscat: A woman belonging to the Asian community has been arrested by the Royal Oman Police (ROP) for stealing gold jewellery from her sponsor's home.
A statement issued online by ROP said, "The Muscat Governorate Police Command has managed to arrest a domestic worker of Asian nationality on the charge of stealing gold jewellery from her sponsor's home, where she was arrested while she was in a gold shop. It was revealed that she is selling the stolen gold in batches so that her matter is not revealed.
"The gold jewellery was found in her room at the sponsor's home. The case is still under process."
"The Royal Oman Police emphasises the need to use modern technologies and surveillance devices at home and not to leave valuables in easily accessible places."
