Urgent appeal made for blood donation in Oman

Muscat: The Department of Blood Banks Services (DBBS), has appealed to holders of O-, A- and B- blood types to donate blood urgently.

A statement issued online by DBBS said: "If your blood group O-, A-, B-, we appeal you to donate blood at the Central Blood Bank (Boushar) as there is an urgent need of your blood today."

"The blood donation times, from Saturday to Thursday, are from 8 am to 8 pm and on Friday from 3 pm to 8 pm. Please book your appointment to donate blood via WhatsApp at 94555648," the statement added.

To book an appointment for blood donation through the WhatsApp application, please send the following information:

 1. Full name with the family name

 2. Civil ID

 3. Type of donation (blood donation / donation of platelets / donation of plasma)

 4. The appropriate day and time for you

The appointment will be confirmed via WhatsApp or via SMS.
