Isolation ward for COVID-19 patients launched in Sur

Sur: A function was organised at Sur Referral Hospital in South Al Sharqiyah Governorate for the launch of an isolation ward project for the coronavirus infected persons  yesterday.
The ceremony was organised under the auspices of Dr. Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Saidi, Minister of Health in the presence of Dr. Yahya bin Badr Al Mawali, Governor of South Al Sharqiyah.
Dr. Khalid bin Said Al Saadi, Director General of Health Services in South Al Sharqiyah Governorate said that the project which is worth OMR761,000, has been financed by Oman Liquefied Natural Gas Company.
The total area of the project is 838 sq. metres and aimed to support the health sector in the Sultanate, mainly in relation to Covid-19 pandemic.
Mohammed bin Jumah Al Mekhaini, Director General for Communications and Community Affairs at Development Corporation of Oman Liquefied Natural Gas Company, said that the launch of the ward would contribute to the development of the health sector in the Sultanate.
It will provide better healthcare to citizens and boost development and rehabilitation of hospitals and health centres for provision of the best health services to the society. The isolation ward comprises twelve isolation rooms and the necessary medical cadre.
