Supreme Committee to take call on opening of schools in Oman: Minister of Health

Muscat: The Minister of Health spoke about the opening of schools and said that the decision is up to the Supreme Committee and that it will be considered at the appropriate time.

His Excellency also opened an isolation ward, with a capacity of 12 rooms, in south Al Sharqiyah today.

His Excellency, Dr. Ahmed Al Sidi, Minister of Health said: "An isolation ward was opened today at Sur Hospital, with the support of the Oman Liquefied Gas Company."

The minister also spoke about the intensive care unit rooms in Oman being close to full. He said: "One day, Sur Hospital filled all its ICU rooms, and a team from the Royal Hospital Care Department was sent to assist them."

His Excellency stressed the importance of adhering to social distancing and taking precautionary measures to relieve pressure on health institutions and limit the spread of COVID-19.
