5G networks encountering external radio interference in Oman: TRA

Muscat: 5G networks are still encountering external radio interference which is affecting the performance of some stations in the Sultanate, Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) said in announcement.

The Authority said: "TRA wishes to inform all users in the Sultanate that the 5G networks of Omantell and Ooredoo are still encountering external radio interference affecting the performance of some stations in the coastline of north and south Al Batinah and Musandam governorates."

"Following coordination with neighbouring countries, it appeared that their 5G networks are also experiencing similar interference at this time. Hance TRA held a series of meetings with several parties to find appropriate solutions to stop these interferences," TRA added.

The authority apologizes for the adversity faced by the operators' 5G networks that was out of their control and confirmed that work is currently underway with all the relevant parties to tackle  issues as soon as possible.
