Urgent appeal for blood donation

Muscat: The Department of Blood Banks Services (DBBS), has appealed to holders of O-, A- and B- blood types to donate urgently.

A statement issued online by DBBS, said: "If your blood group O-, A-, B-, we appeal you to donate blood at the Central Blood Bank (Baushar) as there is an urgent need of blood today."

"The blood donation times, from Saturday to Thursday, are from 8 am to 8 pm and on Friday from 3 pm to 8 pm. Please book your appointment to donate blood via WhatsApp at 94555648," the statement added.

To book an appointment for blood donation through the WhatsApp application, please send the following information:

 1. Full name with the family name

 2. Civil ID

 3. Type of donation (blood donation / donation of platelets / donation of plasma)

 4. The appropriate day and time for you

The appointment will be confirmed via WhatsApp or via SMS.
