Three arrested for attempting illegal entry into Oman

Muscat: Three persons of Asian nationalities have been arrested by the Coast Guard for attempting to enter the Sultanate.

In a statement, the Royal Oman Police (ROP) said, "Coast Guard police seized a boat near the beaches of the Wilayat of Mirbat in the Governorate of Dhofar, with three Asian people on board. They are accused of entering the country illegally. The legal procedures for them are being completed."

In another incident, the ROP arrested a group of expats on charges of violation of the decisions of the Supreme Committee to deal with COVID-19 .

A statement said: "The North Al Sharqiyah Police Command arrested a group of Asian expatriates for violating the decisions of the Supreme Committee to deal with COVID-19. Legal procedures are being completed against them."
