Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion to receive investors

Muscat: The Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion will start receiving investors at its headquarters, starting from Tuesday, October 6.

The ministry said, "The ministry will begin receiving customer transactions through the investor services halls in the ministry’s general building and its directorates and departments in the governorates, starting on Tuesday, October 6, 2020, based on the decision of the Supreme Committee of dealing with COVID-19, and the ministry will take a number of precautionary measures to ensure the safety of employees and investors."

The ministry encourages auditors to complete their transactions electronically, which contributes to the speed of completion of transactions and saves time and effort, as the ministry affirms that it continues to provide its electronic services to investors through the Invest Easy portal, which provides 89 electronic services to investors that can be completed by themselves around the clock and on holidays.

According to the ministry, 62,073 self-completed transactions have been done through the online portal 'Invest Easy' by investors from January 1 till September 28, 2020, including commercial registry transactions such as creating a new commercial registry, updating data, and renewing the registry. Commercial, request and renewal of commercial agencies, requests for certificates of origin, etc, in addition to licensing transactions, such as requesting and updating licenses, and adding places to practice activities.

"Investors can also continue to complete their transactions through service delivery centres, including, Sanad centres and law offices," the ministry added.
