Muscat: The Sultanate is approaching 1,000 deaths due to the novel coronavirus, according to data from the Ministry of Health, pointing to a significant increase in new cases of coronavirus infections in the region.
On Sunday, statistics made available on Tarassud, the coronavirus monitoring app launched by the ministry, showed that the Sultanate registered 42 new deaths during six days, with the total now at 977.
The previous figures published by the Ministry of Health on 29th of September 2020, showed that the total deaths at the time were 935.
