Dar Al Atta’a raises over OMR 71,000 for Beirut blast victims

Muscat: Chief Executive Officer of Oman Charitable Organisation (OCO), Ali bin Ibrahim Al Raisi received a cheque of OMR71,123 from Maryam bint Isa Al Zedjali, the Chairperson of Dar Al Atta’a Association, for the victims of the blast that recently hit the port of Beirut in Lebanon resulting in a number of deaths and injuries to several others besides the destruction of a number of houses, commercial stores and other buildings.

The amount was raised through a campaign run in partnership with  Muscat Auction, Jawahir Oman, Dar Al Aseel, Falafil Restaurant, Zahr Ellaymoun Restaurant and Hali Gifts.

The campaign also saw the participation of artists Maryam Al Wahaibi, Buthaina Al Aliyani, Omaima Al Hinai, Shamsa Al Harthi, Halima Al Balushi and Rebeca Nigrinis.

Dar Al Atta’a extended their thanks to all individuals and establishments for their contributions that added to the success of the campaign. Dar Al Atta’a has earlier organised relief campaigns for Gaza Strip, Yemen, Syria and Rohingya refugees within the Association’s belief that Oman is an integral part to the international community and that the support to others during crises reflects the values of the Omani society.

It is worth mentioning that the Disaster Management Programme is one of the key programmes of Dar Al Atta’a and is concerned with the support and assistance during crises at the local and international level in cooperation with Oman Charitable Organisation.
