Over 6,000 children born in July in Oman

Muscat: 220 births were recorded daily in Oman in July, which roughly equals to nine deliveries every hour, according to the National Centre of Statistics and Information (NCSI). 
The number of live births this year reached 45,435, including 6,828 babies who were born in July.
3,105 of the 6,828 born were males while 3,093 were females, and 3,867 babies belonged to expats. From January until the end of July 2020, the number of deaths in the Sultanate reached 5,539, which is equivalent to 64.5 per cent of the total number of deaths (8,581) in the Sultanate last year.
