Tourists arrested for littering in Oman

Muscat: The Environment Authority (EA) has issued a number of arrest reports against a group of tourists who left waste in Daymaniyat Islands.  

A statement issued online by Environment Authority (EA) said, “Within the framework of the continuous efforts made by the Environment Authority in preserving the environment and its natural components from the hands of the abusers, the Environment Department in Al Batinah South Governorate was able to issued a number of arrest reports against a group of tourists who camped in the Daymaniyat Islands Nature Reserve without permission from the Authority."

“The violators left their waste in the reserve, which required specialists in the reserve to clean the site and return the reserve clean as usual."

"We call upon everyone to follow the laws and regulations issued regarding the Daymaniyat Islands Nature Reserve and abide by them in the event of visiting the reserve to enjoy the beauty of the place,” the statement added.
