COVID-19: Third phase of national sero-survey to be conducted in Oman

Muscat: The third phase of the national sero-survey of COVID-19 infection will begin on Sunday, 27th September, the Ministry of Health (MOH) has announced. 

This comes as part of the effort to continue the process of combating the COVID-19 pandemic and achieve the main survey objectives that already yielded an overall prevalence of COVID-19 infection of 6 per cent in the first phase.

Moreover, the prevalence rate in various governorates in Oman and the level of infection in those who have not shown any symptoms have been assessed during the initial phase.

The survey is scheduled to be conducted in four stages due to the importance of the stages in shaping the course of the pandemic in Oman during specific period.

The Ministry of Health emphasises on the need for individuals to participate in the survey to facilitate the survey process during the scheduled period of time, reassuring all the participants that there will be no consequences like mandatory isolation or wearing an electronic tracking bracelet for those participating in the survey.
