Muscat: Only residents holding valid visas will be allowed to enter the country, His Excellency Saeed Al Maawali, Minister of Transport, Communications and Information Technology said.

The minister also said no visa is being issued for tourists or new workers. "The issuance of visas was discussed at the meeting of the Supreme Committee, and the door will be opened first for citizens and residents who have a valid residence visa, and then the experience can be evaluated to see whether it is possible to open the way for obtaining other visas to come to the Sultanate. There are procedures for those coming to the Sultanate, including health insurance for all arrivals, to cover the cost of treatment for at least one month,” he said.

Meanwhile, Dr. Saif Al Abri stated that the Sultanate does not require that the traveller to come with a PCR examination, but rather the test will be made available for the traveller upon his arrival to the Sultanate. “All the arrivals to the Sultanate by land or air will have to register on the Tarssud Plus application. People who come to Sultanate for more than seven days will have to adhere to quarantine for a period of 14 days and will have to wear a tracking bracelet,” he said.
