Oman's share index ends marginally lower

Muscat: The MSM index closed at 3,621.66 points, down 0.14 per cent from the previous close.

The Sharia Index ended flat 0.00 per cent at 517.52 points. Al Madina Investment, up 4.35 per cent was the top gainer while Vision Insurance, down 4.26 per cent, was the top loser. Ahli Bank Perpetual Bonds 2019 was the most active in terms of the number of shares traded and also was the most active in terms of turnover.

A total number of 192 trades were executed during the day's trading session, generating a turnover of OMR1.0 million, with more than 2.6 million shares changing hands. Out of 29 traded stocks, 5 advanced, 9 declined and 15 remained unchanged. At the session close, GCC and Arab investors were net buyers for OMR747,000 while local investors were net sellers for OMR728,000 followed by foreigners for OMR20,000 worth of shares.

Financial Index closed by 0.40 per cent at, 5,826.23 points. Al Madina Investment was up by 4.35 per cent. Vision Insurance, Oman Arab Bank, National Bank of Oman, Gulf Investment and Al Anwar Holding were down by 4.26 per cent, 3.76 per cent, 1.79 per cent, 1.54 per cent and 1.45 per cent respectively.

Industrial Index closed at 3,955.23 points, up 0.05 per cent. Raysut Cement was up by 0.65 per cent. National Aluminium and Al Jazeera Steel were down by 1.94 per cent and 0.84 per cent respectively.

Services index was up 0.33 per cent before closing at 1,566.26 points. Renaissance Service, Shell Oman and Omantel were up by 2.50 per cent, 1.43 per cent and 0.64 per cent respectively.  Al Bahtinah Power was down by 1.85 per cent.
