Expats arrested with nearly 3,000 boxes of cigarettes in Oman

Muscat: A group of expatriate workers were arrested with 2,900 boxes of illegal cigarettes found in their possession.

Oman Customs said in a statement, "The investigations and risk assessment department raided a site housing expatriate workers in wilayat of Bausher and seized more than 2,900 cigarette boxes and 525 kilograms of tobacco products."

In another case, the customs teams at Khasab port seized a quantity of alcoholic beverages.
