Exclusive: No MOFA approval required for residents entering Oman from October 1

Muscat: Residents having valid visas do not require  approval from the Foreign Ministry for their return to Oman, said Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry for Diplomatic Affairs.

Sheikh Khalifa bin Ali Al Harthy, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign for Diplomatic Affairs, a member of the Supreme Committee, spoke exclusively to Times of Oman regarding the decision of the committee allowing residents holding valid residency permit to return to the Sultanate from October 1, 2020.

He said:  "Those having valid residency are not required to obtain approval from the Foreign Ministry for their return to the Sultanate."

This came after the decision of the Supreme Committee in-charge of dealing with COVID-19, confirmed that those with valid residency, must undergo a laboratory examination (PCR test) on their return to the Sultanate and adhere to the 14-day quarantine.
