Muscat Airport invites volunteers for operational readiness test

Muscat: Muscat International Airport has invited volunteers among Omani Nationals or other nationals residing in the Sultanate of Oman to take part in a trial for testing operational readiness of the airport on Friday, 25th September 2020 at 9:00 AM, ahead of the planned re-opening of the airport on 1st October.

The invitation on the official website of Muscat International Airport read, "Muscat International Airport will be conducting health screening procedures and COVID-19 testing for all arriving passengers, and so we are inviting 150 volunteers to undergo the full arrival process including registration, immigration, COVID-19 PCR tests (nasal swabs), and exit through the baggage claim hall. In the afternoon, we will be testing our drive-through COVID-19 testing facility with the help of a smaller number of volunteers. As part of the trial, you will receive a free PCR test (worth OMR 25), with the result communicated to you within 24 hours."

Once the registration form is completed and received, an approval email to participate in the trial will be sent.

The participant will need to ensure that the following requirements are met:

1. Bring a valid passport and airport pass if you have one.

2. Attendance is limited to age 12 and above.

3. Make sure to be at the airport at 9:00 AM on Friday, 25th September.

4. For health and safety reasons, please wear face masks and maintain social distancing throughout the trial.

"We look forward to welcoming you next Friday. Thank you in advance for contributing towards the return of operations at our airports," the invitation added.
